Custom-Made Grille Chair by Yenhao Chen
IKLANGrille is an important, traditional image of Taiwanese existence and it has been an integral part of the Taiwanese landscape for decades. In Tainan, one can still discover and find out many of these conventional grilles, but sadly, this kind of custom-made grille is rapidly disappearing in support of cheap mass-produced grills. As a result, the craftsmanship of creating these grills is actually disappearing. The Designer has mixed this generally outside element, the grille, with another clearly Taiwanese piece, the Bando feces (used for outdoor banquets). By joining these two different elements, the designer has crafted a piece that has a simple, neat and beautiful aesthetic that matches nicely in interior environments. via
